This trip is open to anyone attending Christ Chapel. Families, young couples, college students, singles, and anyone with enough energy to keep up with all these Camp teens! Minimum age is 8. Team members will serve at Rancho Pitanga, sharing the Gospel and facilitating the camp experience.
Rancho Pitanga, Christian camp facility, is located on 32 beautiful acres outside of Recife and it has everything you would want in a camping experience - separate boy/girl dorms, private “American” lodging, volleyball courts, full-size and half-size soccer fields, rock climbing walls, zip lines, 2 swimming pools, amphitheater, administrative offices, obstacle course, basketball court, archery, human-foosball court, chapel, cafeteria/dining hall, snack bar, frisbee golf, fishing pond, horses, various farm animals, and so much more! These kids are transported by buses and many have never left their home, much less been to a place anything like Rancho Pitanga. We bring in dynamic Christian speakers, have lots of athletic competitions, games, art projects, skits/dramas, group Bible Study, prayer time, and we love, encourage, and share the good news of Jesus Christ with them every day! Honestly, it is a mountaintop experience for them and a great time for our folks to help facilitate the full camp experience. Since we don’t speak Portuguese, we will have some translators available the whole week, but mainly our work will be helping facilitate Camp, serve meals, share with the Evangecube, and, of course, they always want to have an American on whatever team competitions we play.
